Saturday 30th October

Come and Meet Bishop Libby during her Deanery Visit

You may have heard by now about the Diocesan Vision for the next five plus years entitled ‘the Kingdom of God: good news for all’, evidenced within the Christian communities in the Diocese being resourced and shaped to ‘Transform lives’, ‘Grow church’, and ‘Build community.’ You will have followed debates in the media about fears for the future of the Parish Church; the redeployment of clergy and development of new styles of leadership; the financial crisis enveloping many dioceses and the need to grow new ways of being and doing Church alongside the traditional. Bishop Libby and some of leadership team members are coming to our deanery on Saturday 30th to engage with us all about the Vision and the challenge for how we can within our parish and benefice begin the process of being fit for the purpose of growing, transforming people’s lives and building a community of collaboration within the identified context for our mission and ministry. They are open meetings for everyone and please don’t think that you have to be a PCC member, or a signed up Visionary. There will be two opportunities on the 30th to meet our Bishop– at Eyam Church Centre, starting with refreshments from 9.45 and moving into the meeting and discussion from 10 am and finishing at 12 noon. If this isn’t possible, the meeting will be mirrored at St Matthew’s Hayfield Church Hall on the 30th starting with refreshments at 2.15 pm and the meeting between 2.30 and 4.30 pm. It would be brilliant if we could get a few of us from All Saints and St Anne’s there in the morning, or the afternoon and if you think, “What on earth is all this Vision stuff about?” then go along and ask Bishop Libby.
